REGENSTECH: TURNING WASTE INTO VALUE

This is exactly where Regenstech operates — a startup born from the ambition to develop the reference technology capable of transforming all textile and leather waste from the fashion industry, both pre- and post-consumer, into high-quality secondary raw materials.

Our mission is clear: to give new life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, contributing to a truly circular economy within the fashion industry.

What sets Regenstech apart is our innovative “From Textile to Non-Textile” approach, which goes beyond the traditional limits of textile-to-textile recovery. While the latter represents a valuable solution, it can only be applied to a minority of products — typically those made of single, separable fibers.

Our proprietary technology, on the other hand, enables the transformation of all textile and fashion waste — whether of plant, animal, or mixed origin — into new high-performance materials with plastic-like properties.

This approach is particularly significant because it addresses one of the biggest challenges in textile recycling: managing mixed fabrics.
According to the latest data, more than 70% of textile waste consists of mixed fibers, which are extremely difficult to separate using traditional technologies. Our innovative process makes it possible to recover and valorize these complex materials, turning them into new resources.

The numbers speak for themselves: every year, the European Union generates more than 12.6 million tons of textile waste, but less than 30% is actually recycled. The vast majority ends up in landfills or is incinerated — with serious environmental consequences.

In Italy, the situation is no better: we produce around 1.7 million tons of textile waste each year, yet only 15% is effectively recovered. This is largely because traditional recycling systems cannot efficiently process mixed fabrics — which account for over two-thirds of the total.

OUR CONCRETE COMMITMENT

At Regenstech, we firmly believe that technology is the key to transforming textile waste into new resources.
Our technology makes it possible to recover all textile materials without the need for preliminary sorting. This is not just recycling — it’s the creation of a new paradigm, where waste becomes a valuable resource for new production cycles.

An approach that allows us to save natural resources, reduce CO₂ emissions, and contribute concretely to postponing Overshoot Day in the years to come.
